It is the best way to protect yourself in between hand washing. 

Anti-bacterial products are effective against bacteria. The term “antimicrobial” means effective against all microorganisms – bacteria, viruses and fungi. Antimicrobial products are OTC and regulated by the FDA. They require far demonstrated safety and effectiveness, manufacturing quality control, testing and drug label facts on the packaging.
